
UP Govt School Teacher Arrested for Sexual Harassment of Two Minor Girls
In a disturbing incident from Muzaffarnagar, a government primary school teacher has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing two minor girls studying in Classes 4 and 5. The accused, identified as Satish Kumar , was taken into custody on Monday following a complaint lodged by the mother of one of the victims.
According to the police , the harassment occurred after school hours. The mother alleged that the teacher, reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time, had exploited the two girls. The children later confided in their families, prompting the complaint.
Station House Officer (SHO) Jasvir Singh confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) , which deals with assault or use of criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act , which safeguards children from sexual abuse and exploitation.
Following the registration of the case, Satish Kumar was arrested and is currently in police custody. The authorities have also initiated departmental proceedings against him, said Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Sandeep Kumar , adding that further action will be taken as per official rules once the investigation concludes.
The incident has sparked concern over the safety of children in schools, highlighting the need for strict vigilance and reporting mechanisms to prevent sexual abuse. The police have urged parents and school authorities to ensure the protection of minors and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
