
Union Minister Kishan Reddy inspects redevelopment works at Nampally Railway Station
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy expressed optimism that the historic Hyderabad (Nampally) Railway Station would become another jewel for the city once its redevelopment is completed. On Thursday, he personally inspected the ongoing development works at the station.
Kishan Reddy said the Central government has undertaken the redevelopment project at an estimated cost of ₹327 crore . The works are targeted for completion by the end of 2027 , he added. “From now on, the countdown for completion has begun. Since I have personally visited and reviewed the works here, continuous monitoring of the project will be ensured,” the minister said.
He stated that, considering the rapid growth of Hyderabad city and future requirements, the station is being developed with modern amenities. Infrastructure is being created to provide a comfortable environment for passengers, he said.
As part of the redevelopment plan, a large central hall is being constructed at the station. It will house restaurants, various stalls, and improved passenger facilities. In addition, amenities such as Wi-Fi connectivity, CCTV surveillance, and modern security systems will be provided.
Meanwhile, Kishan Reddy said that ₹5,450 crore has been allocated in the Union Budget 2026–27 for the development of railway infrastructure in Telangana . He also revealed that railway projects worth nearly ₹48,000 crore are currently under implementation across the state.
He expressed confidence that once the redevelopment works are completed, Nampally Railway Station will emerge as a modern and more passenger-friendly hub with enhanced facilities.
