Unfair Deductions Won’t Be Tolerated, Says MLA Kaushik Reddy

Local MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy on Monday inaugurated a paddy procurement centre at the Huzurabad Market Yard , signaling the beginning of procurement activities in the area.

Following the launch, he inspected the arrangements with officials and reiterated his commitment to safeguarding farmers’ interests . He emphasized that the procurement process must be carried out transparently , ensuring that farmers receive fair treatment for their produce.

The MLA raised concerns over deductions made in the name of quality checks and warned officials against troubling farmers with unjust practices. He directed that weighing procedures be conducted honestly, without imposing arbitrary cuts that could disadvantage cultivators.

Reddy also urged authorities to avoid delays in weighing the paddy brought to the yard and to ensure smooth functioning of loading and transport services. He highlighted the need for seamless coordination to prevent inconvenience to farmers.

Additionally, he called for timely payments to farmers after the sale of their produce, stressing that any form of injustice would not be tolerated. He assured farmers of his continued support and vigilance.

The programme was attended by market yard officials, public representatives, BRS leaders , and a large gathering of farmers.
