The UAE, with Dubai at the forefront, has been firmly established as one of the world’s most attractive destinations for global investment, drawing multinational companies, high-net-worth individuals, and innovative start-ups. This success has been underpinned by an open, secure, and inclusive economic system, which has been rooted in the nation’s long-standing values of coexistence, openness, and equal opportunity.

Official data has confirmed the UAE’s status as a top destination for investors, and it has been stated that pioneering legislative and economic reforms have enhanced the business climate while ensuring stability and confidence. Following the Federal Decree Law, which allows 100 percent foreign ownership of commercial companies, a 235 percent increase in registered businesses has been recorded over the past five years, reaching more than 1.3 million by mid-2025, up from approximately 400,000 in 2020.

Over 80 percent of economic legislation has been updated in the last three years, resulting in qualitative leaps in business development and aligning the nation with a knowledge, innovation, and technology-driven economy. Global confidence has also been demonstrated by the registration of 402,311 local and international trademarks by September 2025, reflecting the UAE’s secure environment for intellectual property.

Dubai’s strategic initiatives have been credited with attracting world-class businesses. The creation of sector-specific free zones, digital government services, and advanced infrastructure has been highlighted as key reasons why multinational corporations, start-ups, and innovative technology firms choose the UAE as their regional base. High-profile events such as Expand North Star, the world’s largest start-up exhibition, have been cited as crucial for enabling global entrepreneurs to explore the UAE market, secure investment, and test emerging technologies in collaboration with the government.

It has been noted by Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, that an integrated environment has been provided where companies, including start-ups, can scale operations and pilot innovations such as artificial intelligence with government support. The efforts to involve the private sector in drafting business legislation have also been highlighted by him.

According to Sam Armani, Senior Vice President at mimik Technology, Abu Dhabi’s advanced digital infrastructure, flexible policies, and comprehensive government support have been considered the main factors in the decision to establish the company’s regional hub there. The emirate has been recognized as a testing ground for smart systems, autonomous mobility solutions, and digital technologies across sectors such as oil, gas, and ports.

The UAE’s multicultural and tolerant society has been credited with further strengthening its appeal. The presence of over 200 nationalities living in harmony has been emphasized as a major source of the nation’s strength. It has been stated by Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman of Lulu Group, that this inclusive environment has been considered a key advantage, with his company alone employing staff from over 47 nationalities.

International confidence in the UAE has also been evidenced by its use as a regional headquarters hub. Around 700 Singaporean companies have been reported to operate from the UAE, with ease of doing business, advanced legislation, and strategic location being cited as main factors. The country has been positioned as a vital trade bridge connecting Asia and the Middle East while providing a globally competitive business ecosystem.

With bold reforms, future-ready infrastructure, and a culture of openness, the UAE and Dubai have been distinguished from traditional world cities, emerging as a global magnet for investment, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The nation’s strategic blend of inclusivity, regulatory agility, and technology-led growth has been recognized as a benchmark for international business destinations.
