The Telangana government has assigned key positions to two senior Congress legislators who were considered for cabinet berths. Both leaders have been given posts carrying the rank and privileges of a minister, according to official orders issued on Friday.

Bodhan MLA Sudharshan Reddy has been appointed as the Government Advisor. The government said his seniority and administrative experience were key factors in the decision. As Advisor, he will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing state policies. Sudharshan Reddy, who has consistently won from Bodhan, is regarded as one of the Congress party’s loyal and trusted leaders.

Meanwhile, Prem Sagar Rao, the MLA from Mancherial, has been named Chairman of the Telangana State Civil Supplies Corporation. In this role, he will oversee essential operations related to grain procurement and public distribution. Known for his active involvement in party affairs and his responsiveness to public issues, Sagar Rao is expected to bring hands-on leadership to the post.

Both leaders will enjoy ministerial protocol and benefits. Political observers view these appointments as an effort by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to maintain internal balance within the party. The move also aims to address discontent among senior legislators who missed out during the recent cabinet expansion.

The appointments are being seen as a strategic step by the Congress government to strengthen coordination within the administration and make better use of experienced leaders in governance.
