A string of road accidents across Telangana in the early hours of Thursday claimed two lives and left several others seriously injured, prompting renewed concerns over reckless driving and driver fatigue.

RTC Bus Overturns in Jogulamba Gadwal

The most serious mishap occurred in Jogulamba Gadwal district, where a TSRTC bus travelling from Hyderabad to Anantapur overturned on National Highway 44 near Itikyala Padu in Undavelli mandal. The bus, carrying over 30 passengers, reportedly went out of control and flipped over.

Nearly 20 passengers sustained injuries, with four said to be in critical condition . Police suspect that driver fatigue may have led to the accident. The injured were shifted to a nearby government hospital, and a case has been registered.

Hyderabad–Raichur Route Witnesses Fatal Accident

In a separate incident near Devarakadra in Mahabubnagar district, a car travelling from Hyderabad to Raichur collided head-on with a lorry. The impact killed the car driver on the spot, while a woman passenger suffered severe injuries. Preliminary findings indicate overspeeding as the likely cause.

Another Life Lost in High-Speed Road Mishap

Another fatal accident was reported from Kolcharam village in Medak district, where a speeding car rammed into a roadside tree and overturned. Rohit Gupta , a cloth merchant from Medak town, died instantly in the crash. Another occupant sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at the Medak Area Hospital.

Police teams launched rescue operations and cleared traffic congestion at the accident sites. Bodies were sent for post-mortem examination , and investigations are underway.

Authorities have reiterated that road safety must remain a priority, warning that fatigue and excessive speed continue to pose grave risks on highways.
