Two Detained After ‘Made in Pakistan’ Label Found on Fan in UP Madrassa
Police in Uttar Pradesh detained two men, including the manager of a madrassa, after a ceiling fan bearing a “Made in Pakistan” label was found inside the institution and photographs of it circulated widely on social media, officials said on Sunday.
The incident triggered concern online, with several users demanding a detailed investigation into how the fan reached the madrassa premises. Acting on the information, police launched an inquiry and questioned the individuals associated with the institution.
According to officials, the matter was reported in the Vishunpura police station area. Station House Officer Vinay Mishra said police examined all possible angles before reaching a conclusion.
During the inquiry, authorities found that the fan had been purchased from Saudi Arabia and was not illegally procured from Pakistan. The madrassa representatives also submitted purchase-related documents to support their claims.
“After verifying the documents and conducting a detailed inquiry, nothing suspicious was found,” police said.
The two detained men were subsequently released after questioning, officials added.
The case gained attention after the image of the fan went viral on social media, sparking speculation and demands for action before the police investigation clarified the circumstances surrounding the purchase.
