TVS Motor Posts Record Quarterly Profit as EV Sales Surge and Overseas Business Grows
TVS Motor Company reported record revenue and profit for the quarter ended September 2026, supported by strong vehicle sales, rapid growth in electric two-wheelers and rising demand in international markets. The company posted revenue of ₹17,103 crore and net profit of ₹1,377 crore, surpassing broker expectations.
The performance highlights the company’s growing presence across conventional motorcycles, scooters and electric vehicles as it expands its business in India and overseas markets.
TVS Motor sold 1.9 million vehicles during the quarter, reflecting strong demand across its product range. Electric two-wheeler sales stood at 186,000 units, marking a sharp 133% year-on-year increase. The growth underlines the increasing importance of electric mobility in the company’s expansion strategy.
International sales also remained a major growth driver, rising 35% during the quarter. The increase points to the company’s efforts to strengthen its overseas presence while building on demand in its domestic market.
Alongside its operating performance, TVS Motor announced plans to demerge its consumer finance business, a move aimed at unlocking value and allowing investors to assess its automotive operations more clearly. A demerger separates a business into a distinct entity, potentially giving it greater operational focus and a separate valuation.
The proposed restructuring comes as a family succession dispute among the company’s promoters continues. However, the dispute has not disrupted the company’s day-to-day operations, according to the information available.
The latest results put the spotlight on TVS Motor’s ability to combine rising sales with expansion in electric mobility and overseas markets. Its next challenge will be to sustain this momentum while managing the planned business separation and navigating the ongoing promoter-family differences.
The strong quarterly performance also places greater attention on whether electric vehicle growth and international demand can continue to support the company’s earnings in the coming quarters.
