TVK Appoints Former AIADMK Ministers C Vijayabaskar, M R Vijayabhaskar to Key Posts
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president C Joseph Vijay on Saturday announced the appointment of several prominent leaders, including former AIADMK ministers, to key organisational positions as the party moves to expand its presence across Tamil Nadu.
In a statement, Vijay said strengthening the party’s organisational structure was essential to further expanding TVK’s footprint and advancing its welfare-oriented political agenda.
C Vijayabaskar, a former AIADMK Health Minister, has been appointed as the Pudukkottai district organisational secretary. Vijayabaskar, who previously held the Health and Family Welfare portfolio in the AIADMK government, recently left the party and joined TVK.
Similarly, M R Vijayabhaskar, who served as the AIADMK government’s Transport Minister, has been appointed as the Karur district organisational secretary. He had held the transport portfolio during the AIADMK government under former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and subsequently under the Edappadi K Palaniswami government.
The party also appointed Esakki Subbaiah, a former AIADMK minister, as the Tenkasi district organisational secretary. Subbaiah, a former Ambasamudram MLA and minister in the AIADMK government, had also recently moved to TVK.
The appointments come amid a broader influx of former AIADMK leaders into TVK. The induction of senior leaders with organisational and ministerial experience is expected to strengthen the party’s district-level machinery as it seeks to consolidate its political base in Tamil Nadu.
