Trump Administration Releases First Batch of Secret UFO Files, Uncovering Decades of Hidden Reports

President Donald Trump delivered on one of his most talked-about pledges , tearing open the vault on decades of government secrecy and placing the most extraordinary collection of UFO documents ever assembled directly into the hands of the American public.

Back in February, Trump took to Truth Social and directed the Pentagon and other agency heads to release all files on UFOs and "alien and extraterrestrial life," calling for the release of "any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters." Then, just weeks ago, Trump teased the imminent drop before a roaring crowd at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix. He told supporters: "The first releases will begin very, very soon. So you can go out and see if that phenomena is correct. You'll figure it out."

The Pentagon published a staggering 162 files in the first batch, comprising 120 PDF documents, 28 videos, and 14 images , sourced from the FBI, Department of Defense, NASA, and the State Department, containing eyewitness testimony, photographs, and reports of unexplained sightings dating back decades from across the globe. Some files reportedly date back nearly 80 years , while others involve sightings near military zones and restricted airspace in very recent times. Every single file is now publicly accessible, no security clearance, no application, no gatekeeping at the dedicated government portal WAR.GOV/UFO , under Trump's PURSUE program ( Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters).

Among the 28 videos , roughly two dozen documents reported sightings from around the world between 2020 and 2026 , most captured through infrared cameras tracking white objects moving at extraordinary speeds. One video from U.S. Central Command runs one minute and 46 seconds, infrared footage from a military platform showing an object defying conventional explanation. A video from Greece (2023) documents an object making multiple 90-degree turns at approximately 80 miles per hour , a physical impossibility for any known aircraft. Another from Syria shows two semi-transparent, irregularly shaped orange objects that each appear for just two seconds before vanishing entirely.

From the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command , a file documents a striking football-shaped UAP photographed near Japan , formally logged as a military record that had never seen daylight until today. An FBI composite sketch reveals an "apparent ellipsoid bronze metallic object materializing out of a bright light in the sky, 130–195 feet in length, and disappearing instantaneously" , based on corroborating eyewitness reports from September 2023.

The NASA Apollo files are perhaps the most jaw-dropping of all. Archival photographs from both the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 lunar missions show strangely shaped objects captured on film, images that had never before been shared with the public. A declassified Apollo 17 transcript records astronauts telling mission control: "There's a whole bunch of big ones on my window, just bright. It looks like the Fourth of July," before describing the objects as "very jagged, angular fragments that are tumbling" , a phenomenon NASA quietly filed away and never officially explained for over 50 years.

From the FBI's archives , photographs from New Year's Eve 1999 surface showing UAPs in the same frame as U.S. military aircraft . Additionally, an infrared image labelled "FBI Photo B2" captures an unidentified object over the western United States in December 2025 ,just five months ago. The release also features eyewitness accounts from federal government employees who observed glowing orbs in the dusk sky on two separate occasions across the western United States.

Crucially, the Pentagon confirmed that all released materials represent unresolved cases , meaning the government itself is unable to make a definitive determination on the nature of the phenomena observed, often due to a lack of sufficient data.

The chorus of senior officials backing the release was historic. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth declared: "These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation and it's time the American people see it for themselves." Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard called it "a careful, comprehensive, and unprecedented review" of government holdings, while FBI Director Kash Patel called the drop a "landmark release." NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman pledged the agency would remain candid about what it knows and what it doesn't.

On Capitol Hill, Republican Rep. Tim Burchett publicly thanked Trump for "keeping his word" on transparency and disclosure.

The Defense Department has firmly confirmed it will continue releasing new materials on a rolling basis every few weeks as further documents are discovered and declassified. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna confirmed that 46 additional UAP videos identified by whistleblowers are expected in later release videos that could prove even more extraordinary than what was dropped today.
