Truecaller Adds Multilingual Voicemail Feature, Enhancing Call Management for Users
A new voicemail feature has been launched by Truecaller for Android users in India. The feature allows missed calls to be recorded and transcribed into text , enabling messages to be read without listening to the audio.
The service is available free of cost for all Indian users, with call forwarding required on the mobile number. Users are required to have the latest version of the Truecaller app to access the functionality. Once set up, transcriptions may take a short time to appear, and all messages can be accessed from the Voicemail tab within the app.
The voicemail feature supports transcription in 12 Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Nepali, Punjabi, Sanskrit, and Urdu. Options for spam filtering, adjustable playback speed, and smart call categorisation have also been provided, giving users greater control over missed calls.
An enhanced experience is offered to Truecaller Premium users through the Truecaller Assistant, which answers calls, interacts with callers, provides personalized greetings, and manages calls automatically. Truecaller has confirmed that all messages are stored directly on the user’s device, ensuring privacy and security.
The feature has been introduced to help users stay connected, save time, and manage communications effectively, especially in situations where calls cannot be answered immediately. Expansion of the voicemail service to additional countries has been indicated by Truecaller.
