Trough Effect Likely to Bring Rain in the State for Three Days
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has stated that varying weather conditions are likely to prevail in the state over the next three days. While intense heat is expected to continue in some areas, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely in a few regions.
According to the authority, the impact of a trough along with winds blowing from the southwest may bring light to moderate rains accompanied by lightning at several places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Manyam districts starting today.
At the same time, light rains accompanied by lightning are likely at isolated places in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, the Polavaram region, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts. Authorities also noted that heat intensity may continue in some areas.
In view of the possibility of sudden rains, the disaster management authority has advised people to remain alert. It warned the public not to stand under trees during thunder and lightning and to seek shelter in safe places instead of staying in open areas. People have also been urged to follow the instructions of local authorities whenever necessary.
