
Triple Murder Case: Accused Injured While Allegedly Trying To Escape Police Custody
An accused in the triple murder case that shocked Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district was injured in a police encounter on Monday after allegedly attempting to escape custody, officials said.
The case pertains to a violent incident at a birthday party held at a gym on Saturday night, where an altercation escalated into the killing of three individuals Amardeep (30), Manish (28), and Akash (18) . The party had been organised to celebrate the birthday of a local resident, Jeetu.
Following the incident, police registered a case and arrested three accused Rupesh, Mayank, and Naresh . During interrogation, Mayank reportedly disclosed that he had concealed an illegal firearm under a flyover.
Acting on the information, a police team took the accused to the location on Monday to recover the weapon. According to officials, Mayank allegedly attempted to flee and opened fire at the police team , prompting them to retaliate in self-defence .
In the exchange, the accused sustained a bullet injury in his leg and was subsequently overpowered and taken into custody .
Khurja Circle Officer Shobhit Kumar said that police recovered an illegal .315 bore country-made pistol along with an empty cartridge from the spot.
The injured accused, a resident of Khurja, has been admitted to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. Further investigation into the case is underway.
