Tributes to Martyrs, Blueprint for Growth: Telangana Celebrates State Formation Day

As Telangana celebrated its State Formation Day with grandeur and patriotic fervour, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy used the occasion to present an ambitious roadmap for the state's future, positioning development, social justice, and inclusive growth as the defining pillars of his government's agenda. Paying tribute to the sacrifices that made Telangana a reality, the Chief Minister said the state must now channel the spirit of the movement towards building a prosperous and globally competitive future.

The celebrations began at the Gun Park Martyrs' Memorial , where Revanth Reddy paid homage to those who laid down their lives during the decades-long struggle for a separate Telangana. Later, at the main State Formation Day event held at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds , he reviewed a ceremonial parade, received a guard of honour, and addressed a large gathering of citizens, officials, and public representatives.

In a speech that combined a review of government achievements with a vision for the decades ahead, the Chief Minister reiterated his administration's commitment to poverty eradication, economic expansion, and social equity . He described Telangana's progress as inseparable from the aspirations of its people and said the government was working to ensure that growth benefits every section of society.

A major highlight of the address was the government's "Telangana Rising-2047" vision document. Under this long-term strategy, Telangana aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047 , the centenary year of India's Independence. The plan seeks to strengthen the state's position as a hub for investment, innovation, advanced manufacturing, services, and technology-driven growth.

Highlighting achievements in the agricultural sector, Revanth Reddy said the government has prioritised farmer welfare through measures such as crop loan waivers of up to ₹2 lakh , increased support for cultivation, and procurement of produce at Minimum Support Price (MSP) . He also reaffirmed Telangana's commitment to securing its rightful share of Krishna and Godavari river waters while accelerating irrigation projects to support rural livelihoods.

The Chief Minister also placed significant emphasis on women's empowerment , describing it as a key driver of economic development. Schemes such as free bus travel for women, subsidised LPG cylinders, and free electricity for eligible households were highlighted as initiatives that have reduced financial burdens on families and expanded economic participation.

On employment and education, the government claimed substantial progress through transparent recruitment processes that have filled thousands of public-sector vacancies. Revanth Reddy also announced the expansion of pre-primary education, nutrition programmes, and skill development initiatives aimed at preparing Telangana's youth for emerging opportunities in a rapidly evolving economy.

Urban development formed another important part of the government's vision. The Chief Minister highlighted plans for the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail , rejuvenation of the Musi River , development of the proposed Bharat Future City , and initiatives to transform Hyderabad into a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable global city.

Concluding his address, Revanth Reddy said Telangana's next chapter would be shaped by a balance between welfare and growth. As the state enters its twelfth year, he expressed confidence that public participation, social inclusion, and strategic investments would help Telangana emerge as one of India's foremost economic and development success stories.
