A memorial gathering was held at the DGR Convention Hall in Ghatkesar, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, to honor the late poet Ande Sri. The event was attended by MP Etela Rajender, local leaders, and community representatives, who paid tribute to Ande Sri’s portrait and remembered his contributions to society.

Speaking at the event, MP Etela Rajender highlighted Ande Sri’s lifelong dedication to uplifting marginalized communities. Born into a poor family with limited access to formal education, Ande Sri rose to prominence through his exceptional talent and intellect. His natural gift for spontaneously creating poetry and songs endeared him to thousands of people across the region.

He was celebrated as the poet who inspired new energy during the Telangana movement with songs like "Jaya Jayaha Telangana", and as a voice of humanity through emotionally powerful lyrics such as "Mayamipothunnadamma Manishanvadu". Commentators noted that his works vividly captured the struggles and experiences of people across different communities and professions, reflecting a deep social awareness.

Despite his fame, Ande Sri remained humble, never chasing wealth or recognition. His personal integrity and refusal to exploit his widespread popularity for personal gain earned him respect across Telugu-speaking communities worldwide.

Speakers emphasized that Ande Sri’s songs and words will continue to resonate with people even after his passing. His lifelong commitment to helping the poor and treating society as his family leaves a lasting legacy. Attendees prayed for his soul’s peace and expressed heartfelt condolences to his family.
