Tribal Families’ Home Dreams Come True as Adilabad Hamlet Honours Collector

The long-awaited dream of owning a home is becoming a reality for several Kolam tribal families in a remote part of Adilabad district, following the intervention of District Collector Rajarshee Shah. In recognition of his efforts, residents of Dahiguda village have renamed their settlement ‘Rajarsheeshaguda’, expressing their gratitude and affection for the official.

The Collector visited Dahiguda (Rajarsheeshaguda) in Pippaldhari gram panchayat on Thursday and inaugurated the housewarming ceremonies of three newly constructed Indiramma houses. Earlier, 17 poor tribal families in the village were sanctioned house-site pattas along with Indiramma houses. His intervention also accelerated housing construction and the development of basic infrastructure in the settlement.

During a village meeting, Rajarshee Shah interacted directly with residents and reviewed their concerns and requirements. He announced that 10 more Indiramma houses would be sanctioned in the Pippaldhari gram panchayat area and assured villagers that further measures would be taken to improve living conditions.

The Collector also focused on livelihood generation and women’s empowerment. Officials would take steps to provide eligible tribal families with goat-rearing and dairy buffalo units to strengthen their incomes. Women would receive free training in tailoring, while efforts would be made to facilitate employment opportunities in Adilabad for local youth who have completed degree courses.

Basic infrastructure issues were also addressed. Rajarshee Shah directed the electricity department to ensure uninterrupted power supply and instructed officials to identify land for a mobile tower to resolve poor network connectivity. Residents without Aadhaar cards would be assisted with immediate enrolment.

He further assured villagers of measures to improve road connectivity to Mamidikori village, including required CD works. Under the Jalasiri scheme, farm ponds would be sanctioned for eligible farmers, while steps would be taken to ensure that all eligible residents receive Cheyutha pensions.

Residents thanked the Collector for personally visiting their settlement, listening to their concerns and taking prompt steps towards improving their housing, livelihoods and basic amenities.
