Tragic Betrayal: Daughter Murders Parents After Inter-Caste Marriage Refusal

Vikarabad district’s Bantwaram Mandal , Yacharam village , witnessed a shocking incident where a young nurse murdered her own parents in a fit of rage after they refused to approve her inter-caste marriage . The case has sent shockwaves across the state.

According to police reports , 23-year-old Surekha , working as a nurse in a private hospital in Sangareddy district , administered lethal doses of sedatives to her father , Dasharath (58) , and mother , Lakshmi (52) , on January 24 . Surekha had fallen in love with a young man from another caste , whom she met through social media . When she expressed her desire to marry him , her parents strongly opposed the relationship, leading to frequent arguments at home.

Distraught over her parents’ refusal , Surekha allegedly hatched a plan to remove the obstacle. She reportedly obtained sedative injections from the hospital where she worked, claiming she was giving them for body pain . She first injected her mother , followed by her father , administering lethal doses that resulted in their immediate deaths .

Following the incident, Surekha called her brother and falsely claimed that their parents had died due to agricultural loan-related stress . Suspicious, her brother filed a complaint with the police . Initially, the deaths were registered as suspicious , but police became suspicious after examining three injections found at the house, which matched the batch numbers of injections from the Sangareddy hospital .

Upon further interrogation , Surekha allegedly confessed to the crime . She has been arrested and remanded in custody , with charges filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code .
