TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud hails public support for CM Revanth’s governance

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud has said that the Congress’ strong performance in the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election reflects public confidence in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s governance. Speaking to the media in Nizamabad on Friday, he described the bypoll results as a clear signal that citizens trust the state government’s welfare-focused initiatives.

Mahesh Kumar noted that the people had already rejected the BRS under K. Chandrashekar Rao in the past. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BRS failed to win a single seat, signaling challenges for the party’s future. The Jubilee Hills bypoll, he said, further exposed BRS’s weakening presence in the state.

Referring to Congress’ recent victories, including the Secunderabad Cantonment by-election, Mahesh Kumar said these wins demonstrate the public’s renewed faith in the party’s governance. He praised CM Revanth Reddy’s people-centric welfare schemes and efficient administration, saying they have earned the voters’ continued support. Mahesh Kumar expressed confidence that Congress would continue to meet public expectations over the next three years and achieve a decisive victory in the 2028 Assembly elections.

He also criticized the BJP, noting that their candidate finished in third place. According to Mahesh Kumar, public dissatisfaction with the BJP stems from the central government’s refusal to approve bills passed by the Telangana Assembly providing 42% reservation for education, jobs, and local bodies for BCs. The voters, he said, have strongly rejected this stance.

The Jubilee Hills bypoll was held on November 11, following the sudden death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath in June due to heart-related issues. Mahesh Kumar concluded that the voters’ verdict will have a significant impact on the political landscape of Telangana.
