TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud Challenges KTR to Undergo Drug Test

The issue of drugs has sparked a fresh controversy in Telangana politics. In the wake of a police raid on the farmhouse of former BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy at Moinabad in Rangareddy district, TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud has thrown an open challenge to BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR).

Goud called for all legislators to undergo drug tests during the Assembly sessions beginning today and prove their innocence.

Speaking to the media, Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged that the drug problem had intensified in the state during the ten years of BRS rule. “Drug consumption is a very serious crime. Over the past decade, the youth have been pushed towards drug addiction,” he said.

He also claimed that suspicions had been raised earlier against KTR. Goud recalled that the present Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, when he was a Congress leader, had challenged KTR to undergo a drug test, but the latter did not respond.

“We suspect that KTR’s entire batch has become addicted to drugs. If all of us undergo tests together on the Assembly platform, the people will know who is guilty and who is innocent,” he said.
