Tourism a game-changer for Andhra Pradesh’s growth: Minister Kandula Durgesh

Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh said tourism has emerged as a key driving force shaping the future of nations and states. He made these remarks at a reception hosted by the Indian High Commission in London after the conclusion of the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025 exhibition.

Durgesh said it was a proud moment to represent Andhra Pradesh at WTM, calling it a valuable opportunity to showcase the state’s tourism potential to the global audience.

Invites global investors to Andhra Pradesh

Addressing representatives of tourism companies from across the world, the minister invited them to visit Andhra Pradesh and explore its scenic destinations. He highlighted that the state has granted industrial status to the tourism sector and introduced a new tourism policy to encourage investments.

“Come to Andhra Pradesh - discover its beautiful tourist attractions and be a partner in the state’s growth by investing in the tourism and service sectors,” he urged global investors.

₹12,000 crore investments in 15 months

Durgesh revealed that the state had already attracted ₹12,000 crore in tourism investments over the past 15 months, underscoring the government’s belief that tourism will be a “game-changer” in Andhra Pradesh’s development. He noted vast opportunities for investment in eco, adventure, and beach tourism, and added that the state is an ideal destination for establishing wellness and Ayurvedic centers.

He also mentioned that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is personally focusing on the development of eco-tourism projects. To encourage investment, the government is offering power subsidies and various incentives for tourism ventures.

Vision to make Andhra Pradesh a national model

Durgesh emphasized that Andhra Pradesh aims to become a model state in tourism development, striving to achieve the number one position in India. He invited domestic and international investors to participate in the upcoming Partnership Summit scheduled in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15.

Recalling India’s diversity of cultures, religions, and communities, the minister said the nation’s unity is its greatest strength. The event concluded with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” echoing through the venue.

Having completed his three-day visit, Minister Kandula Durgesh is set to return to Andhra Pradesh.
