The recruitment drive, which began on November 18, 2025, aims to engage apprentices across various workshops, sheds, and divisions of South Eastern Railway located in West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha. The apprenticeships are intended to provide practical training to candidates holding Class 10 and ITI qualifications in relevant trades.
According to the official notification, the 1,785 vacancies are distributed across several railway establishments. Major units with high vacancy numbers include Kharagpur Workshop (360 posts), Engineering Workshop, Sini (100 posts), Sr. DEE(G) offices at Kharagpur and Chakradharpur, Electric and Diesel Loco Sheds, and Carriage and Wagon Depots at Kharagpur, Chakradharpur, Adra, Ranchi, and other locations.
The recruitment covers technical and engineering-related trades across workshops, electrical depots, track machine units, and locomotive sheds, offering opportunities to candidates from different ITI backgrounds.
To be eligible, candidates must have passed Class 10 (10th standard) from a recognised board and hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an institution recognised by the National Council for Vocational Training or State Council.
