Gujarat Titans delivered a commanding performance at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, brushing aside Chennai Super Kings by 8 wickets to register one of their most emphatic wins of IPL 2026.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl, GT’s decision proved spot on as CSK never found their rhythm with the bat. Despite captain Ruturaj Gaikwad fighting admirably for an unbeaten 74 off 60 balls , the hosts crumbled around him. Early wickets derailed the Yellow Army, and apart from a cameo from Shivam Dube (22) and a breezy 18 from Jamie Overton in the death overs, CSK limped to 158/7 in 20 overs , a total that looked competitive but ultimately fell short on a flat track.

Kagiso Rabada was the pick of Gujarat’s bowlers with 3 wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Manav Suthar chipped in with key breakthroughs to keep CSK under pressure.

The chase turned into a batting masterclass . Sai Sudharsan produced a stunning 87 off 46 balls , smashing 7 sixes, while Shubman Gill added a quick 33. Jos Buttler (39 not out) finished things in style as Gujarat reached the target in just 16.4 overs at a dominant pace.

With this win, Gujarat Titans sent a strong statement to the league , while CSK were left searching for answers after a rare home defeat at Chepauk.
