The Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Temple is set to host the grand Pushpayagam Mahotsavam on Thursday, October 30, following traditional rituals. The festivities will begin the night before with Ankurarpanam, the ceremonial sowing of seeds, on Wednesday, October 29, from 8 pm to 9 pm.

On the day of the Pushpayagam, the temple will conduct a series of sacred ceremonies. After the second Archana and Naivedyam, the deity Sri Malayappa Swami, accompanied by Sri Devi and Bhudevi, will be taken to the Kalyana Mandapam near the Sampangiramana Pradakshina for Snapana Thirumanjanam. The ritual bathing will be performed using milk, curd, honey, sandal paste, turmeric, and other fragrant substances, as prescribed in scriptures.

The main Pushpayagam event will be held from 1 pm to 5 pm, featuring vibrant offerings of flowers and leaves. In the evening, following the Sahasradeepam Alankara Seva, devotees will have the opportunity to receive darshan of Sri Malayappa Swami along the four Mada streets of the temple.

Changes to regular services

TTD officials have announced that the Sahasradeepam Alankara Seva on October 29 will be cancelled due to Ankurarpanam preparations. On October 30, other major services, including Tiruppavada Seva, Kalyanotsavam, Oonjal Seva, and Arjita Brahmotsavam Sevas, will also be suspended. However, Thomala Seva and Archana Sevas will continue privately within the temple premises.

The Pushpayagam Mahotsavam is a highlight of the temple calendar, drawing large crowds of devotees eager to witness the floral rituals and seek the blessings of Sri Malayappa Swami. Devotees have been advised to plan their visit in line with the revised schedule.
