Thunderstorms, Showers Likely Across Andhra For Two More Days
Andhra Pradesh is witnessing fluctuating weather conditions, with several parts of the state experiencing unseasonal rains even as scorching summer heat continues unabated. Light showers accompanied by thunder and lightning have been reported in many districts, while heatwave conditions persist in others, leaving residents struggling with sharply contrasting weather patterns.
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority ( APSDMA ) has forecast similar conditions for the next two days. Officials said the unusual weather activity is being triggered by the combined influence of northeasterly and southwesterly winds in the lower atmosphere.
APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain stated that thunderstorms and scattered rainfall are likely across multiple districts on Friday. Areas expected to receive rain include Alluri Sitharama Raju , Visakhapatnam , Anakapalli, East and West Godavari districts, Krishna, NTR district and several parts of Rayalaseema .
At the same time, temperatures remain high in several regions despite the rain forecast. Authorities warned that strong hot winds are likely in agency areas such as GK Veedhi and Munchingiputtu in Alluri Sitharama Raju district, besides Gokavaram and Polavaram in East Godavari district.
VR Puram in Polavaram recorded a maximum temperature of 41.7 degrees Celsius , while Nellore and Kurnool districts also witnessed temperatures exceeding 41 degrees, reflecting the continuing intensity of summer across the state.
Officials cautioned that the sudden weather changes could affect agricultural operations. Farmers, labourers and cattle herders have been advised to avoid standing under trees during thunderstorms and lightning activity. The government has appealed to people to remain alert and take necessary precautions against lightning strikes and extreme heat conditions.
