Despite financial constraints, the government will not compromise on public welfare and development, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said at a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Monday. Ministers and departmental secretaries attended the meeting, while District Collectors and Superintendents of Police joined virtually.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said the government aims to transform the greenfield capital Amaravati into one of the country’s most livable cities within the next three years. He said Amaravati would be developed as a model city through a comprehensive plan with the support of the Central government.

Reviewing development initiatives, the Chief Minister said ₹24,000 crore has been spent on irrigation projects so far. He added that the Jal Jeevan Mission has been streamlined, with ₹25,000 crore being invested to provide safe drinking water to households through tap connections. Farmers are being encouraged to adopt demand-based crops, and steps are being taken to prevent farmer suicides.

On employment generation, Chandrababu Naidu said 16,347 teacher posts were filled through the Mega DSC , while 5,757 constables have been recruited. The trainee stipend has been increased from ₹4,500 to ₹12,500. He said MSME parks will be established in all 175 Assembly constituencies, with investments of ₹20 lakh crore expected to create 23 lakh jobs.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said the coalition government is focused on development despite limited financial resources and called on officials to work with commitment. He said rural development is being prioritised under the ‘Palle Panduga’ programme, with works worth ₹11,328 crore taken up. Infrastructure works worth ₹1,005 crore are underway in tribal areas under the ‘Adavi Thalli Bata’ scheme, while ₹2,123 crore has been allocated for constituency-level priority projects.

Pawan Kalyan urged officials to strengthen field-level monitoring and ensure accountability. He stressed that every rupee spent from the public exchequer must directly benefit the people.

On welfare initiatives, he said 204 Anna Canteens are providing food to the needy, auto drivers are being supported through a dedicated welfare programme, crops are being safeguarded through market intervention costing ₹1,100 crore, and ₹10,000 crore was paid within 48 hours for paddy procurement.

Addressing land issues, the Chief Minister said QR code-enabled Pattadar Passbooks with enhanced security features are being issued statewide, and a systematic survey is being conducted to prevent land disputes.

In the power sector, Chandrababu Naidu said the state has moved from a “true-up” to a “true-down” phase. He added that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has returned to profitability and that data centres with a total capacity of 5 gigawatts, including those by Google, will be established in Visakhapatnam. Work has also begun on green ammonia production in Kakinada .

Concluding the meeting, both leaders urged officials to work with team spirit, improve the speed of governance, review outdated laws, and prepare action plans to achieve targets set for 2026–27 .
