Three teenage girls rescued as police bust prostitution racket in Jammu
In a quiet lane of Jammu’s Greater Kailash area , a modest house had drawn little attention from neighbours. Behind its closed doors, however, police allege a small but troubling network of illegal activities had been operating.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police moved in after receiving specific information about immoral activities at the residence, reportedly owned by Amreek Singh . Acting swiftly on the tip-off, a police team carried out a raid at the property, uncovering what investigators believe was a prostitution racket being run from the house.
During the operation, officers rescued three teenage girls who were found inside the premises. Police suspect the girls had been brought there as part of a trafficking operation and were being exploited for prostitution.
Three individuals were arrested during the raid , including a woman believed to have played a role in managing or facilitating the activities inside the house. The identities of the other accused have not yet been fully disclosed, but investigators say they are suspected of direct involvement in the alleged racket .
According to preliminary findings, the house was allegedly being used to procure women and induce them into prostitution . Police also believe that certain individuals present at the scene were engaging the girls for money.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at Channi Himmat Police Station in Jammu . Officials said the rescued girls are being provided assistance while their statements are being recorded as part of the investigation.
Authorities are now examining whether the alleged racket is linked to a wider trafficking network and are working to identify other suspects who may have facilitated the illegal activities. Human trafficking remains a serious problem across India , with women and girls particularly vulnerable. Recent data shows that a significant number of trafficking cases involve sexual exploitation and forced labour , though many cases remain unresolved. Investigators are also looking into how the girls were brought to the temple and whether similar operations are ongoing elsewhere in the region .
