
Three Minor Girls Drown in Andhra Waterfall While Taking Selfie
In a tragic incident , three minor girls lost their lives after venturing into a waterfall to take a selfie in Alluri Sitharama Raju district on Thursday, police said.
According to officials, a group of four girls from the same village had visited the waterfall near Moolagummi village during the ongoing summer holidays . While attempting to take a selfie at the spot, three of them accidentally slipped into the water.
The victims, who reportedly did not know how to swim , drowned at the scene. The fourth girl managed to survive and is currently undergoing treatment , officials added.
“Three minor girls drowned after entering the waterfall for a selfie without knowing how to swim,” a police official said, describing the incident.
Authorities noted that although the waterfall appears modest and calm , it can be deceptively dangerous , especially for those unfamiliar with the terrain or lacking swimming skills.
The incident has raised concerns over safety awareness among youngsters , particularly during the holiday season when such outings increase.
Police have initiated steps to register a case under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway.
