Three Ministers, 30% Commission: KTR on Khammam Tour

Launching a sharp attack on the Congress government during his Khammam tour, BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao alleged that despite Khammam having three ministers, farmers are suffering while a “30% commission culture” is thriving. Addressing a felicitation meeting for newly elected BRS sarpanches and deputy sarpanches, KTR claimed ministers were prioritising commissions over public service.

KTR said farmers never faced urea shortages during BRS’s decade-long rule but are now forced to stand in long queues. Questioning official claims, he asked how urea could be “available on apps but missing in shops.” He also accused the Congress government of failing to deliver financial assistance to tenant farmers and implement schemes like Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa.

Calling the Congress administration demolition-driven and corrupt, KTR said major irrigation works such as the Sitarama Sagar project were nearly completed under KCR but have stalled since the change in government. He also alleged that six guarantees promised by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka remain unfulfilled.

Referring to the election of Army Ravi as sarpanch, KTR said the victory—after alleged harassment by Congress Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy —symbolised public resistance. He expressed confidence that the BRS would reclaim Khammam, asserting that the pink flag would fly high again in the district.
