Three drug peddlers arrested in Hyderabad, MDMA and cannabis seized

Hyderabad police have arrested three individuals involved in illegal drug trafficking and seized various narcotics from them. Acting on credible intelligence, the Narcotics Enforcement Wing conducted a special operation on December 22 near Chikkadpally Police Station.

The arrested include a 25-year-old event manager, identified as the main drug peddler, along with two accomplices: a 21-year-old software professional and a 28-year-old ride-hailing driver. Authorities recovered 22 grams of hydroponic cannabis, 5 grams of MDMA (3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine), 5.57 grams of ecstasy pills, LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) blotters, four mobile phones, and cash totaling ₹50,000 from their possession, according to DCP (Task Force) Vaibhav Raghunath.

Police said the main suspect, who works as an event manager, has a prior criminal record in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, including multiple cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS). He allegedly procured drugs such as MDMA, LSD blotters, and ecstasy pills through suppliers on the run and via darknet platforms.

To conceal financial transactions, the group reportedly used cryptocurrency wallets, while drugs were delivered through courier services. The event manager sold the drugs at high prices in Hyderabad, earning illegal profits. When he was unavailable, one of his accomplices handled operations, and the ride-hailing driver assisted in transporting the drugs and facilitating payments.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and investigations are ongoing.
