Nani's 'The Paradise' has achieved an impressive milestone on Netflix despite facing severe criticism from audiences following its theatrical and digital releases. Directed by Srikanth Odela, the action drama secured the No. 3 position on Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English Films list for the week of October 19–25, 2026, recording 3.3 million views and 9.3 million hours watched.

The achievement comes amid a wave of online trolling, with several viewers criticising the film's screenplay, characterisation, lengthy second half and execution. Some fans have also blamed Srikanth Odela for failing to make the most of Nani's performance and Mohan Babu's role.

Interestingly, the film's Netflix version underwent significant changes following its theatrical reception. Reports indicate that approximately 24 minutes were trimmed from the original version, while a dance sequence featuring Sonali Kulkarni that had attracted considerable online ridicule was removed. The streaming version also reportedly featured improvements to its visual effects.

Despite the backlash, 'The Paradise' has demonstrated its ability to attract viewers on the digital platform. Its Netflix performance is particularly noteworthy because the film's reception has remained divided, with audiences praising its scale, action sequences and Nani's performance while questioning several creative decisions.

Nani previously responded to the mixed reactions, acknowledging the flaws highlighted by critics and reviewers. The actor said he had enjoyed both the appreciation and the humorous trolling, adding that he had learned from the feedback.

The controversy also extended to BookMyShow, where the film's ratings and reviews were disabled. Separately, a Bengaluru court granted the makers relief against the circulation of content alleged to be defamatory. The developments added another dimension to the debate surrounding online criticism and film reviews.

Featuring Kayadu Lohar as the female lead and Mohan Babu in a negative role, the film also stars Raghav Juyal, Sonali Kulkarni and Sampoornesh Babu. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas, the pan-Indian action drama features music by Anirudh Ravichander.

While its theatrical reception fell short of expectations, 'The Paradise' has found a sizable audience on Netflix. Its latest streaming figures highlight the difference between critical reception and viewership, although strong viewing numbers alone do not establish whether audiences have changed their opinion of the film.
