
T'gana's IPS reshuffle, Sajjanar takes charge as Hyderabad's Police Commissioner
The Telangana government has issued a significant order for the transfer and posting of senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the state, aiming to strengthen law enforcement and governance. The official notification, dated September 26, 2025, was issued by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao.
In the latest reshuffle, V.C. Sajjanar, IPS (1996), has been appointed Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City. Meanwhile, Sri Ravi Gupta, IPS (1990), who served as Special Chief Secretary to the Home Department and Chairman of the Road Safety Authority, is now appointed Executive Vice-Chairman and Director General of the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Hyderabad. Sri C.V. Anand, IPS (1991),former Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, has taken over as Special Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department.
Other notable transfers include Ms. Shikha Goel, IPS (1994), who will serve as Director General, Vigilance & Enforcement, and Ms. Swati Lakra, IPS (1995), who will serve as Director General, Special Protection Force. Several officers have also been given additional responsibilities to ensure smooth functioning during this transition.
In operational postings, Dr. Anil Kumar, IPS (1996), has moved to head Police Operations, Greyhounds & Octopus, while new appointments in Anti-Corruption, CID, and Intelligence have been made to fill key vacancies. The notification also includes postings for younger officers - Sri S.M. Vijay Kumar, IPS (2012), has been promoted as Commissioner of Police, Siddipet, and Ms. Sindhu Sharma, IPS (2014), as Joint Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau.
All officers have been instructed to take charge of their new roles with immediate effect.
