T’gana’s 2047 vision - CM calls investors
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has called on industrialists to invest in the state, highlighting its ambitious plan to become a global leader in development and industry. Speaking at the annual Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI) conference in Delhi, he assured investors that the state government would provide full support and necessary security for investments.
The Chief Minister also announced that the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document, outlining targets across all sectors including industry, would be launched on December 9 this year.
He urged industrialists to not only invest but also become ambassadors for Telangana, a state he described as “young but rich in history and potential.”
Key highlights from the CM’s address:
• Telangana has been divided into three regions in its development plan: Core Urban, Semi-Urban, and Rural. Polluting industries in core urban areas will be moved out to make space for the service sector, while semi-urban areas will focus on manufacturing.
• The Hyderabad Metro will be extended from 70 km to 150 km to meet growing urban needs, with a target of increasing daily ridership from 5 lakh to 15 lakh.
• Plans are underway to revive the Musi River, construct elevated corridors, build regional ring roads, and develop the futuristic Bharat Future City, which will be connected to the airport.
• Telangana is promoting organic farming and has taken strong measures against narcotics.
• Young India Skill University and Young India Sports University have been set up to enhance youth skills and sports performance, with a focus on creating jobs and Olympic-level athletes.
• Since Telangana lacks a port, the state has requested the central government to approve a Greenfield Express Highway and parallel railway line connecting Bharat Future City to Machilipatnam port.
• Hyderabad leads in bulk drug production, contributing 40% to India’s output, and is at the forefront of vaccine manufacturing.
The PAFI panel discussion was attended by PAFI President Chetan Krishna, Celcon Group Chairman Y. Guruswamy Naidu, and Godrej Corporate Affairs Group President R. K. Swami, and managed by Ashok Akaybee, Editorial Director of Business Standard India.
With its focus on infrastructure, industry, skill development, and sustainable growth, Telangana aims to position itself as a leading state in India by 2047.
