T’gana students create history at 4th EMRS National Sports Meet, CM Revanth congratulates winners

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy congratulated the state’s students who created history by winning the overall championship at the 4th Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) National Sports Meet-2025. Meeting the young athletes in Hyderabad, he praised their dedication, discipline and outstanding performances.

Students from Telangana emerged as the top performers in the national-level event, securing an impressive 230 medals - 88 gold, 66 silver and 76 bronze - outshining participants from all other states. The sports meet, held in Rourkela, Odisha, from November 11 to 15, featured competitions in athletics, archery, swimming, gymnastics, boxing, judo, wrestling, weightlifting, taekwondo, yoga, shooting, chess and several other categories.

Calling the achievement a proud moment for the state, the Chief Minister said the results reflected the students’ determination and the quality of training provided to them. He added that the victory also showcased the rising sporting talent among tribal students studying in EMRS institutions.

Minister Adluri Laxman and senior officials participated in the felicitation event and extended their best wishes to the young champions, encouraging them to strive for even greater success in the future.

The EMRS National Sports Meet serves as an important national platform for tribal students across India to display and develop their sporting abilities.
