T’gana aims to set up 120 GCCs, creating 120,000 jobs, says minister Sridhar Babu

Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, Sridhar Babu, announced that the state government aims to establish 120 Global Capability Centers (GCCs) by next year, which are expected to generate around 120,000 new jobs.

The announcement was made during the inauguration of Vanguard New India’s Global Value Center (GVC) at the Knowledge Park in Hyderabad’s HITEC City. The event was attended by Minister Sridhar Babu and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.

Speaking at the event, Minister Sridhar Babu said, “Hyderabad has emerged as a hub of credibility, innovation, and integrity. Leading multinational companies choosing the city as their center is a testament to its talent, stability, and competitiveness.”

Highlighting Vanguard’s choice of Hyderabad for its Global Value Center, he noted that the company, one of the world’s leading investment management firms managing assets worth $6.4 trillion, recognizes the city’s exceptional capabilities.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka added that the government is not only attracting investments but also preparing the state’s youth for future industry needs. “We are conducting skill development, reskilling, and upskilling programs in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Cloud Engineering, and Cybersecurity,” he said.

According to an official statement, the top seven global asset management firms already have centers in Hyderabad, collectively managing assets worth over $30 trillion. The newly inaugurated Vanguard center will focus on engineering excellence, cloud modernization, AI-based solutions, data security, and global digital platforms.

Minister Sridhar Babu invited more international companies to invest in Telangana, stating, “Global leadership organizations should join us in shaping the Rising Telangana story.”

Youth training and employment initiatives The Telangana government has launched several key initiatives to train and employ the youth. Through the Telangana Academy, around 6,000 unemployed youth will receive advanced technical training and job opportunities. Each district is set to have Skill Development Centers and Young India Skill Universities. Digital platforms such as the Telangana Digital Job Center provide guidance on career pathways and interview support.
