Telangana-Northeast cultural ties to grow stronger: Governor

The second day of the Telangana-North East Connect Film Festival was held at Prasads Imax in Hyderabad, celebrating cultural exchange between Telangana and the Northeastern states. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy formally inaugurated the media center and launched the movie screenings.

Speaking at the event, the Governor highlighted the rich environmental heritage, cultural diversity, and peaceful traditions that make the Northeastern states unique. He noted that people from the Northeast working and living in Telangana contribute significantly to the state’s progress. Telangana, he said, considers them part of its extended family, and it is the state’s responsibility to respect and encourage their traditions.

The Governor added that the two-day festival would help strengthen cultural bonds between Telangana and the Northeast. He emphasized that supporting youth, filmmakers, and artists through such initiatives is essential for deeper understanding and cooperation between regions.

Ministers Vakkati Srihari, Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman Dil Raju, and several other dignitaries attended the event. They expressed happiness over the successful conduct of the festival and its role in fostering closer ties between people of both regions.
