
Telangana–Harvard Kennedy School Partnership: CM Revanth Reddy
With the objective of comprehensively transforming Telangana’s education system , Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has taken a significant step during his visit to the United States . The Chief Minister is participating in a six-day leadership training programme at Harvard University while simultaneously exploring collaboration with its prestigious Kennedy School . As part of this initiative, he met senior Harvard officials to discuss the scope for mutual partnership in the education sector .
CM Revanth Reddy held discussions with Harvard’s former Vice Provost and senior professor Dustin Tingley and Harvard Kennedy School Dean Jeremy Weinstein . During the meeting, he presented the Telangana government’s flagship vision document, “Telangana Rising 2047 Vision” , to the Harvard leadership. Stressing the need to elevate the state’s education system to global standards , the Chief Minister sought institutional cooperation with the Kennedy School , to which Harvard officials responded positively , according to an official statement.
The deliberations also covered key issues such as improving education quality , modern skill development , human resource development , and their impact on economic growth .
At present, CM Revanth Reddy is attending the “Leadership in the 21st Century” programme at the Harvard Kennedy School . The course, scheduled from January 25 to 30 , includes classroom sessions, assignments, and group projects . Upon successful completion, he will receive a course certificate from Harvard . Notably, he will become the first serving Chief Minister in India to earn this certification.
Benefits for Telangana Institutions
The collaboration with Harvard University is expected to provide global recognition to educational institutions in Telangana. It will also offer training in global governance practices for government officials and public representatives . In particular, institutions such as the Telangana Skill University are likely to benefit from access to Harvard’s research and academic curricula , enhancing graduates’ employability and job opportunities .
