
Telangana Women’s Commission Chairperson Meets Minister Seethakka
The newly appointed leadership of the Telangana State Women’s Commission, led by Chairperson Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, called on Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Women & Child Welfare Danasari Anasuya Seethakka in Hyderabad on Saturday as part of a courtesy visit following their recent appointment.
During the meeting, Minister Seethakka congratulated the Chairperson and commission members and extended her best wishes as they begin their tenure. She expressed confidence that the new team would work with commitment to strengthen the functioning of the Commission in protecting women’s rights across the state.
The Minister underlined that ensuring women’s safety, dignity, and legal protection must remain the top priority. She stressed the need for the Commission to act swiftly in cases of harassment, injustice, and violence against women, ensuring timely intervention and effective relief for victims.
Seethakka also assured that the state government would extend full cooperation and institutional support to the Commission to help it function more effectively. She added that strengthening women’s empowerment initiatives and improving grievance redressal mechanisms would remain key focus areas of the government’s welfare agenda.
The Chairperson and members briefed the Minister about their commitment to taking up issues faced by women at the grassroots level and working in coordination with government departments to ensure better outcomes.
Senior officials from the Women and Child Welfare Department were also present during the meeting.
