Telangana Woman Allegedly Kills Husband By Injecting Toilet Cleaner Through Cannula
A mysterious death case in Telangana’s Nizamabad district has turned into a murder investigation after police alleged that a woman killed her husband by injecting toilet cleaner and anaesthesia medicine through a cannula while he was undergoing treatment.
The deceased, identified as Prasanth (35) , who worked in a Gulf country, died on June 30. His mother approached the police on July 1, stating that she was unaware of his return home and the circumstances leading to his death. She raised suspicions over the incident and expressed doubts about her daughter-in-law Sandhya (32) .
Following the complaint, police launched an investigation and examined various aspects of the case, including technical evidence, medical details and other factual findings . Investigators claimed that the evidence gathered during the probe revealed an alleged conspiracy involving Sandhya, her alleged associate Anil (35) and another person, Venkata Sai .
According to police, Sandhya and Anil allegedly planned to eliminate Prasanth, considering him an obstacle to their relationship, and sought Sai’s help to execute the plan.
Police alleged that Sai first attempted to kill Prasanth on June 29 by making him consume a large quantity of alcohol and later pushing him from the terrace of a building on instructions received from Sandhya over the phone. However, Prasanth survived the fall with serious injuries.
He was taken to a government hospital for treatment and later shifted to a private hospital before being brought back home. Police alleged that during this period, Sandhya, allegedly encouraged by Anil, injected harmful substances through a cannula , which ultimately led to Prasanth’s death.
The investigation relied on forensic and technical evidence to piece together the alleged sequence of events and identify the role of each accused. Such evidence is expected to be significant during the criminal prosecution, where authorities will need to establish the alleged motive, conspiracy and actions of the accused before the court.
Police said the accused allegedly confessed during questioning. All three accused were arrested and produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody. The case will now proceed through the legal system, where the strength and admissibility of the evidence collected during the investigation will determine the outcome.
