The Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 began on a grand note in Hyderabad, bringing together delegates from 42 countries, corporate leaders, and major investors. The event is being seen as an important step in the state’s effort to position itself as a major driver of India’s economic growth. Speaking at the inaugural session, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Telangana aims to contribute 10% to India’s GDP by 2047. Although the state represents just 2.9% of the country’s population, it already contributes nearly 5% to the national GDP, and the government has prepared an ambitious strategy to expand its economic output further.

The Chief Minister explained that the government’s long-term goal is to make Telangana a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He referred to the rapid development of China’s Guangdong province as an example of how strategic planning and investment can transform a region within two decades. Telangana, he added, intends to follow a similar model by attracting global investments and accelerating growth across sectors. He also said the state’s development plan is divided into three zones: the core urban region, peri-urban zones, and the rural agricultural economy. As Telangana completes ten years as a state, the government is determined to make it one of India’s most advanced regions.

Governor Dr. Jishnu Dev Varma, who formally inaugurated the summit, said Telangana is now moving from visionary planning to concrete implementation. He stated that the state’s goal of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047 aligns with India’s target of reaching a $30 trillion economy in the same period. He praised the government for adopting an inclusive model of development that focuses on women, farmers, youth, and children, and said the overall indicators across the state show strong, measurable progress.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, who also attended the event, said India has already emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy and is close to becoming the third-largest. He assured full support from the central government for Telangana’s development plans and said the state will play a key role in achieving the national vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” According to him, Telangana’s progress contributes significantly to India’s growth story.

One of the most notable announcements at the summit came from Eric Swider, Director at the Trump Media and Technology Group. He announced that companies he represents plan to invest ₹1 lakh crore over the next ten years in Telangana’s Bharat Future City project and other development initiatives. Praising Telangana’s urban planning and global investment strategy, he said the state is emerging as an attractive destination for international technology investors and that India is moving towards becoming a global tech hub.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who attended the summit as a special guest, stressed that Bengaluru and Hyderabad should not be viewed as rivals but as complementary tech powerhouses. He said he initially believed Telangana was competing with Bengaluru but now sees that Telangana’s competition is global. He praised the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and said South Indian states together have the capability to elevate India to the global stage. Citing Ratan Tata’s words, he said that greater progress can be achieved when regions move forward together.

He highlighted the vast talent pool in South India, noting that Bengaluru alone has 2.5 million engineers, far more than even California, and that Telangana and Hyderabad are equally strong in human resources. According to him, no country in the world can match India if South Indian states join forces and work collaboratively. He also expressed hope that the central government would extend more support for the development of the southern region.

Throughout the summit, delegates, ministers, and corporate leaders held extensive discussions on investment opportunities and future development. Officials said both domestic and international investors have shown strong interest in Telangana, indicating growing confidence in the state’s long-term economic vision and large-scale development plans.
