The Telangana government will roll out the landmark ‘Indiramma Jeevitha Bima’ scheme across the State from June 2 , coinciding with the Telangana Formation Day celebrations, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced on Sunday.

In a message posted on X , Bhatti Vikramarka said the scheme aims to provide insurance coverage of Rs. 5 lakh to nearly 1.15 crore families in the State, irrespective of caste, religion or economic background. He described the initiative as one of the government’s major welfare measures aimed at extending financial security to households across Telangana.

The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted several ongoing welfare and empowerment programmes being implemented by the State government. He said efforts were underway to transform women into entrepreneurs through the allocation of solar power plants and by enhancing the limit of interest-free loans for women’s self-help groups to Rs. 1 lakh crore .

Bhatti Vikramarka further said the government was continuing to deliver welfare benefits through initiatives such as the distribution of fine rice to ration card holders , 200 units of free electricity under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, and the construction of Indiramma houses for poor families.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to its promises, he said the administration was moving forward with a focus on welfare and development while steering Telangana on the path of progress.
