Telangana To Hold Week-Long Women’s Empowerment Celebrations From May 25

The Telangana government will organise Women’s Week celebrations across the state from May 25 to May 31 , with a focus on strengthening women’s empowerment, financial independence, social security, education and livelihoods.

Reviewing preparations for the week-long programme at the State Secretariat on Saturday, Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Women & Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) directed officials to conduct the celebrations in a grand and meaningful manner.

The Minister said the government was committed not only to improving the economic status of women’s self-help groups but also to ensuring their social progress and long-term success. She noted that the celebrations were aimed at instilling confidence among women and creating greater awareness about opportunities for growth and self-reliance.

As part of the initiative, a solar power plant established under women’s self-help groups will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister. Seethakka described the project as a symbol of women’s growing economic strength and self-sufficiency in the state.

Senior officials including Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Special Chief Secretary Dana Kishore , Commissioner Divya Devarajan , Women & Child Welfare Secretary Anita Ramachandran , and Department Director Shruti Ojha attended the high-level review meeting.

Officials informed the Minister that special programmes had been planned for each day of the celebrations. The events will include the inauguration of women’s association buildings and Anganwadi centres across the state, besides awareness campaigns on women’s safety and protection.

The week-long programmes will also feature the flagging off of RTC buses operated by women’s groups , special incubator initiatives to encourage women entrepreneurs, and literacy drives aimed at improving educational opportunities for women.

The government hopes the celebrations will serve as a new platform for advancing women’s empowerment and encouraging greater participation of women in economic and social development.
