Telangana Thalli statues to be unveiled in all districts today

As part of the state’s flagship Prajapalana - Praja Vijayotsavams initiative, the Telangana government has directed all district collectors to unveil the Telangana Thalli statues in their respective district collectorate complexes today.

The Telangana Thalli statue, seen as a symbol of the state’s identity, aspirations, and cultural pride, will be inaugurated simultaneously across the state. The government considers this a key moment in reinforcing the spirit of self-respect and public participation that shaped the Telangana movement.

The first Telangana Thalli statue was unveiled exactly a year ago - on December 9, 2024 - at the State Secretariat by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The government says the statue has since become an inspiration for its new governance initiatives.

According to a memo issued by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on December 7, district collectors have been instructed to conduct the unveiling ceremonies at 10 a.m. on December 9. The General Administration Department emphasized that the event comes at a time when the government is focusing on taking public services deeper into villages and closely addressing citizen issues.

Collectors have been asked to complete all necessary arrangements and submit a follow-up report with photographs after the ceremony. All districts except Mulugu, Narayanpet, Warangal, Adilabad, Karimnagar, and Nalgonda are required to implement these instructions.

The state government expects today’s event to be a major highlight of the ongoing Prajapalana and Praja Vijayotsavam celebrations across Telangana.
