Telangana salutes Sardar Patel’s legacy: Rajnath Singh

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that people rose against the atrocities of the Razakars, who could not be tolerated. He recalled that the Razakars committed many cruelties under the Nizam’s rule.

Speaking at the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds, Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He praised Patel’s role, saying that Hyderabad joined India because of his leadership and that Operation Polo was a significant chapter in the country’s history. He added that the Nizam accepted defeat before Sardar Patel and that Patel acted with foresight during the operation. Rajnath Singh emphasized that no matter what obstacles arise, the country will follow the path of righteousness and defeat any conspiracies against national integrity.

India is not a simple country Rajnath Singh reiterated that the Razakars committed atrocities under the Nizam, and the people could no longer tolerate them. He praised Sardar Patel for integrating Hyderabad into India through his capability and leadership. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to build the nation Patel dreamed of, taking steps to strengthen India’s position globally. He also highlighted the removal of Article 370 and the development of Jammu & Kashmir as part of these efforts. Despite differences among people, everyone stands united on matters of national security and defence. “Today, India is not just a simple country; we are reaching a stage where we can lead the world,” he said.

Operations against terrorism continue Rajnath Singh also spoke about India’s military actions, saying that in Operation Sindoor, Indian soldiers showed their strength, eliminating members of terrorist Masood Azhar’s family. He said the forces punished those who committed killings in the name of religion in Pahalgam. He added that the world has witnessed India’s military capabilities, and while Operation Sindoor has not yet concluded, only a pause has been taken; the operation continues.

The celebrations were attended by Union Ministers Kishan Reddy, Bandaru Sanjay, Shekawat, and former Governor Dattatreya, among others.
