
Telangana Revises Bakrid Holiday To May 28
The Telangana Government has officially revised the public holiday date for Bakrid this year, shifting it from May 27 (Wednesday) to May 28 (Thursday) across the state.
The decision was taken following recommendations submitted by the Telangana Wakf Board Chief Executive Officer and the Minorities Welfare Department , based on the expected observance of the festival.
According to the revised government order, the holiday has been declared under the provisions of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 , making it applicable to government offices, educational institutions and banking-related local financial establishments in the state.
The notification was issued in the name of Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao . With the revised schedule coming into effect, offices and institutions will function as usual on May 27, while the official holiday will now be observed on May 28.
