Telangana Raj Bhavan renamed as ‘Lok Bhavan’

The official residence of the Telangana Governor, earlier known as Raj Bhavan, has now been renamed Lok Bhavan. The Governor’s Office announced on Tuesday that the new name has come into official use from today.

According to the statement, all government documents, records, and correspondence will now refer to the building as “Lok Bhavan, Telangana” instead of “Raj Bhavan, Telangana.” Officials stated that the change aims to reflect India’s democratic values and highlight a more people-centric governance approach as the country moves towards the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”

The renaming follows a directive from the Union Home Ministry, which instructed that Raj Bhavans across the country be renamed Lok Bhavans, and the official residences of Lieutenant Governors, currently called Raj Niwas, be renamed Lok Niwas.
