Telangana Prepares for Godavari Pushkaralu 2027: CM Reddy Reviews Development Plans

The Telangana government has shifted focus to preparations for the Godavari Pushkaralu scheduled in June 2027 . In this context, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of action plans. Officials gave a comprehensive presentation on the development works proposed across the Godavari river basin from Basara to Bhadrachalam .

The Chief Minister directed officials to take advance measures to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience during the Pushkaralu. He instructed the formation of a special technical committee of engineers to identify suitable locations. The committee will conduct field visits and submit a report within 15–20 days . The report will then be reviewed by an officials’ committee and forwarded with final estimates to a Cabinet Sub-Committee , following which the State Cabinet will take a final decision on the comprehensive plan.

The Chief Minister suggested that works related to the Pushkaralu be categorised into permanent and temporary projects and executed based on priority. He also directed the establishment of a special war room at Praja Bhavan to ensure coordination among various departments. Emphasis was laid on the construction and expansion of ghats at major temples and tourist locations, along with improving transport and connectivity for devotees.

The meeting also reviewed the master plan for the development and expansion of Basara Sri Gnana Saraswati Temple , where the Chief Minister proposed several modifications and suggestions. Keeping in view the large influx of devotees during the Pushkaralu, he instructed officials to proceed with a comprehensive and well-coordinated plan .

Several ministers, senior officials, and public representatives attended the meeting. The Chief Minister stated that the government is committed to ensuring the successful conduct of the Pushkaralu through coordinated efforts.
