Telangana poet Ande Sri honored with state ceremonies at funeral

The final rites of Telangana’s beloved poet and writer, Ande Sri, were held with full official honors. The funeral, conducted in Ghatskesar, saw the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who paid his respects to the late literary figure.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister personally carried a garland to honor Ande Sri, the author of the state song, as a mark of his deep respect. In addition to the Chief Minister, several ministers, MLAs, and other public representatives attended, bidding a final farewell to the poet.

The state government organized the funeral with official honors in recognition of Ande Sri’s invaluable contributions to Telangana literature. Leaders expressed their condolences, and family members received heartfelt sympathy from political figures.

CM Revanth Reddy also mentioned that he had written to recommend Ande Sri for the Padma Shri last year and pledged to personally meet Prime Minister Modi this time to press for the award. He further indicated that central ministers, including Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy, would be approached regarding the matter.
