Telangana Is BJP’s Next Target: MP Eatala Rajender
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Eatala Rajender asserted that Telangana is the party’s next political target and said a “saffron revolution” has already begun in the state. Addressing a media conference held at Gayatri Garden in Secunderabad Cantonment on Saturday, he made key remarks on the political developments expected in the state in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
Rajender criticised the Congress government, stating that people had voted out the BRS and handed power to Congress, but the party’s inefficiency had become evident within just two years. He said people were frustrated with the Congress administration and strongly believed that the BJP coming to power was the only way to prevent Telangana from sinking deeper into debt and to end “dictatorial tendencies” in governance.
He further stated that the BJP, which is already in power in 22 states across the country , would soon capture Telangana as its 23rd state and expressed confidence that the party would also emerge victorious in the upcoming GHMC elections .
Rajender said the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency was fully prepared to accord a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting the state for the first time after assuming office as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. He claimed that nearly one lakh people from Malkajgiri alone would attend the public meeting scheduled for Sunday and revealed that 1,000 buses had been arranged for the mobilisation.
Referring to past elections, he said that although the BJP had lost the Cantonment Assembly seat, the party secured a majority of 25,000 votes in the Lok Sabha elections due to the “Modi effect”. He added that people were voluntarily coming forward with the same enthusiasm to participate in the meeting.
Keeping in view the intense summer heat, all arrangements had been made to ensure that the public faced no inconvenience, he said, urging party workers and leaders to make the meeting a success. Rajender also reiterated that attacks and abusive language were not part of the BJP’s political culture and said the party stood for civil and dignified politics .
