Telangana has begun the process of preparing fresh electoral rolls for two Graduate MLC constituencies, with the Election Commission releasing the schedule for voter registration ahead of the vacancies expected in March 2027. Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy announced the schedule in a statement on Thursday.

The exercise covers the Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduate MLC constituencies. Graduates who meet the eligibility criteria have been asked to apply for inclusion in the electoral rolls by November 6.

The two MLC seats are scheduled to fall vacant in March 2027, following which the Election Commission has initiated the process of updating and preparing the electoral rolls. Eligible graduates will have to submit Form-18 to register as voters in the respective constituencies.

A key requirement of the fresh registration exercise is that even graduates whose names are already present in the existing electoral rolls must submit a new Form-18 application. Applicants will also have to provide copies of documents establishing their eligibility along with their applications.

As per the schedule, the Election Commission will issue a notification on September 28 outlining the electoral roll preparation process. The deadline for submitting Form-18 applications has been fixed for November 6.

The draft electoral rolls will be published on November 25, allowing eligible voters and other stakeholders to examine the lists. Claims and objections to the draft rolls will be accepted from November 25 to December 10. Authorities will scrutinise the submissions and complete the disposal of claims and objections by December 25, before preparing the supplementary lists.

The final electoral rolls will be published on December 30, completing the registration and revision exercise ahead of the Graduate MLC elections.

Graduates can submit their applications through the CEO Telangana website or directly approach the concerned election authorities. Applications may also be sent by post.

The Election Commission has advised eligible graduates to complete the registration process within the prescribed timeframe. Those who had previously voted in the Graduate MLC elections will also need to complete the fresh application process to ensure their names are considered for inclusion in the new electoral rolls.
