Telangana Govt Transfers 45 IAS Officers in Major Administrative Reshuffle

In a major administrative overhaul, the Telangana government on February 26, 2026 issued orders transferring 45 IAS officers in one of the largest reshuffles in recent years. The exercise, carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has triggered widespread discussion across administrative and political circles.

The transfers include several key district-level positions, with new Collectors appointed in multiple districts. A number of officers have also been shifted to Secretariat departments, public sector undertakings and government institutions. Official sources indicated that the objective is to strengthen district administration, speed up file clearance and ensure quicker implementation of welfare and development programmes.

Hyderabad District Collector Harichandana Dasari will continue in her present post. IAS officer Jyothi was recently appointed as CMD of Singareni Collieries Company Limited as part of the broader administrative changes.

As part of the reshuffle, Rahul Bojja was shifted from the Irrigation Department and posted as Principal Secretary (Political Affairs) in the General Administration Department, with additional charge of BC Welfare. Sandeep Kumar Sultania has been transferred from the Finance Department. M.D. Musharraf Ali Faruqui was removed from his post as CMD of TGSPDCL and posted as CMD of the third DISCOM. Arvind Kumar, IAS, has been transferred from the Disaster Management Department and has not been assigned a new posting. The decision follows sanction granted by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for prosecution against him in the Formula one case .

According to orders issued under G.O. 290 , Sanjay Kumar has been transferred from Special Chief Secretary, Industries and IT, to Special Chief Secretary, PR & RD and RWS Departments. Sabyasachi Ghosh has been assigned responsibilities for the Flagship Welfare and Development Schemes Unit and CSR. M. Dana Kishore has been posted as Special Chief Secretary, Labour, Employment, Training and Factories Department, with additional charge of Disaster Management. N. Sridhar has been appointed Principal Secretary, IT and Industries. I. Sridhar has been posted as Secretary, Irrigation and CAD. Gaurav Uppal has been appointed Secretary, Finance and Planning, with additional charge as EO DG, TGRAC. B. Vijendra has been transferred from Mahabubnagar Collector to Secretary, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society. D. Divya continues as SERP CEO and has been given additional charge as State Nodal Officer, Prajavani. Advait Kumar Singh has been shifted from Mahabubabad Collector to Special Secretary, Telangana Bhavan (Delhi) Coordination Department. M. Hanumantha Rao has been moved from Yadadri Bhuvanagiri Collector to Director of Endowments. Sikta Patnaik has been transferred from Narayanpet Collector to Special Secretary, Finance. Sandeep Kumar Jha has been appointed Jangaon Collector from the post of GHMC Zonal Commissioner. Pamela Satpathy has been moved from Karimnagar Collector to Special Commissioner, Labour Department. Anurag Jayanti has been appointed Yadadri Bhuvanagiri Collector. Rahul Raj P.S. has been transferred from Medak Collector to Special Commissioner and Registrar, Cooperation Department. Bhavesh Mishra has been posted as Special Secretary, IT Department.

Among district-level postings, Jitesh V. Patil has been appointed CMD of TSPDISCL. Rizwan Basha Shaik has been transferred from Jangaon to Jogulamba Gadwal as Collector. Santosh B.M. has been moved from Jogulamba Gadwal Collector to Director, Tribal Welfare. Prateek Jain has been appointed Narayanpet Collector from Vikarabad. Sneha Shabarish has been posted as Mahabubabad Collector. P. Katyayani Devi has been appointed Joint Managing Director of the State Finance Corporation. G. Phanindra Reddy has been posted as Additional Collector, Narayanpet. Chitra Mishra has been appointed Karimnagar Collector. Garima Agrawal has been posted as Rajanna Sircilla Collector. Deepak Tiwari has been appointed Vikarabad Collector. Pratima Singh has been posted as Medak Collector. Ankit has been appointed Bhadradri Kothagudem Collector. Chahat Bajpai has been appointed Hanumakonda Collector and given additional charge as GHMC Commissioner. Khushboo Gupta has been posted as Mahabubnagar Collector. Manda Makarandu has been appointed GHMC Rajendranagar Zonal Commissioner. Faizan Ahmed has been posted as Additional Collector, Medchal–Malkajgiri. Shivendra Pratap has been appointed Joint Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited. Parmar Pinkesh Kumar Lalit Kumar has been appointed GHMC Quthbullapur Zonal Commissioner. Uma Shankar Prasad has been posted as Additional Collector, Vikarabad.

Among State Civil Service officers, G.V. Shyam Prasad Lal has been appointed Additional Collector, Nagarkurnool; P. Chandrayya as Additional Collector, Mancherial; Y.V. Ganesh as Additional Collector, Warangal; Abdul Hameed as Additional Collector, Siddipet; B. Venkateswarlu as Additional Collector, Nirmal; N. Keemya Naik as Additional Collector, Wanaparthy; K. Vidyasagar as Additional CEO, Industry & Investment Cell; and M. Surender as Additional Nodal Officer, Prajavani.

Officials said the large-scale reshuffle is aimed at improving administrative efficiency and ensuring effective implementation of government schemes across Telangana.
